Ski Day 2006

On the weekend of February 4-5 another showdown happened between the residents and attendings. This one had nothing to do with work hours or proper splinting technique, though. This was to find out who was actually king of the mountain.

Drs. Brick, Ready and Vrahas graciously invited the entire resident class to Waterville Valley for a weekend of skiing and the Second Annual Attending Versus Resident Ski Race. Lift tickets, ski rentals, lunch, dinner and hotel rooms were all generously provided by Drs. Brick, Ready and Minas.

As the racing unfolded, though, it became clear this generosity was solely for the purpose of bringing the residents up to the mountain to get beaten down during the team ski race. For the second year in a row the attending and family team ruled the day. In the individual competition several residents managed to place higher than their attendings, but it was not enough to claim the crown.

All who came had a great time and we are very much looking forward to next year’s rematch.
